THE biennial Open Day held by John Dunlop at Castle Stables, Arundel on Sunday has raised almost £30,000 for three local charities, despite the weather not being at its best. This major fundraiser gave visitors an unequalled opportunity to see top class racehorses, including major winners and talented prospects for the future, at close quarters.

Secretary Marcus Hosgood said: “We are very happy with the result, given that the weather was not great and we are still in an economic downturn. There was a steady flow of visitors throughout the morning.”
