Fresh from securing a Netball World Cup bronze medal in Sydney this August, England Goal Defense Eboni Beckford-Chambers took time out of her busy schedule to run a coaching session at recently established Woodside Netball Club based at Bolnore Village, Haywards Heath.

Surrey resident Eboni started her career playing for Netball Superleague giants Team Bath moving quickly through the ranks to gain her first England cap in 2008.

Now with an impressive 70 caps to her name, Eboni has been playing in the world class ANZ championships in Australia-New Zealand for 4 years but will now relocate back to England to perform again in the British domestic competition.

Eboni spent two hours putting 15 players of mixed ability through their paces. After the session, club chairman Alison Armstrong said: “Having Eboni train the girls this evening was enormously motivating for them all. Eboni has promised to come back and we would be delighted to welcome her! I hope her attendance here in Haywards Heath tonight will spur others on to pick up netball. Come and join us!”

Netball is a rapidly growing sport, with just under 100,000 members affiliated to England Netball and playing in local and regional leagues all over the country.

Woodside NC holds adult ‘back to netball’ sessions on Sundays from 5:30-7pm on the outdoor court at The Woodside, Bolnore Village Haywards Heath. Juniors will commence on Sunday 20th September at 4-5.15pm with registration and an initial assessment training session.
