Cranleigh pair get Harlequins place

Cranleigh Prep School’s Peter Sinclair and Ollie Corbett have gained a place at the Harlequins Academy.

The sixth formers were nominated by Cranleigh’s director of rugby Andy Houston for a trial back in January.

This took place on at the end of March at Surrey Sports Park in Guildford - which was the last session for this season.

It involved doing practice matches and drills, along with strength and conditioning and the pair heard three days later that they had been selected for the under-14 squad for next season.

The new season starts in July with three different day camps during the summer holidays, then training once a month on Monday evenings.

A school spokesman said: “Many congratulations to both Ollie and Peter for such a fantastic achievement, following on from being selected to play for The Lambs last term.“
