Cottesmore Golf and Country Club hosted their fourth annual Charity Pro-Am Tournament in aid of the men’s, ladies’ and veteran’s charities, which for 2015 are the Stroke Association, Winston’s Wish and Age UK (East Grinstead & District) respectively.

A record number of 23 teams entered the fund-raising event, with each team having a professional golfer join three amateurs.

With the best two scores on each hole counting, it was a friendly format, with prizes for the top six teams, along with spot prizes on each hole and the chance to take part in a million dollar challenge on the tricky par-3 third hole!

The ladies were so impressed with the course that they are planning to return to play in the Ladies’ Open next July! Chrissie commented, ‘Perhaps a reason for us playing so well was that as we’d never played the course before, we didn’t know where all the trouble was!’

The three captains, Pat, Harry and Alan Rengger were delighted and thanked all the volunteers who helped to make the day run smoothly.

It is hoped the event will have raised over £3,000, to be shared among three charities.
