Collins gives Gilbert the chop in shock of the year

But the most impressive performance came from junior Harry Collins beating veterans Andy Meads 3-1 and shocking defender Barrie Gilbert 3-0 with a brilliant display of consistent hitting.

Three matches went the distance all won by Horsham including a 12-10 win over Nick Gamblin for Graham Carter. Johnny Clarke scored a maximum with Carter and Colin Jones winning two each.

Another convincing win for the Bs with all players contributing.

Phil Nicholls won Foresters lone point beating Dan Pound three-straight. Mark Collins won three with two going the distance against Nicholls and Matt Craig.

Horsham A 8 Foresters D 1

Normal service was resumed from Steve Barby and Dan Barna with hat-tricks although Steve was pushed all the way by Csaba Balint to five.

Glyn Hydes won two in the fifth against Tony Catt for Foresters’ point. Catt won 23-21 in the fourth and 11-0 in the fifth.

A well contested match saw Alan Stone narrowly beaten in five by Joe Comper and the same score to John Robinson in an entertaining game against Rory Scott.

Shalim Ahmed chipped in with two wins.

Horsham D 0 Foresters A 9

The first eight matches all won 3 straight by Foresters then Steve Hoad stunned Adam Todd taking the first two games until the rolls royce spluttered into life winning the next three 11-3, 11-4 and 11-2.
