Chichester Thunder’s basketball team took down table-topping University of Surrey at the Tudor Hale Centre for Sport.

The home side worked hard in offence and defence for their 82-73 win against unbeaten opponents.

In a dramatic third quarter Thunder clawed back a 15-point deficit. Surrey pressed in the closing stages of the game but the momentum was with Chichester.

In rugby, the University of Chichester’s men’s first XV welcomed St George’s for a must -win game. If the first half was tense the second half kicked off with a real bang as Chichester were reduced to 13 men in the space of two minutes. Despite this the home side scored two excellent tries late on through Tapan Rai and Rhys Thompson, ensuring the visitors were denied an important bonus point.

Special mention goes to Gearoid Lee for his place kicking which kept the scoreboard ticking over and helped his team to a 23-15 win.

The first men’s and women’s football teams pulled off an impressive double over Cardiff Met with 2-1 and 3-0 victories.

In a dramatic third quarter Thunder clawed back a 15-point deficit.

The men’s lacrosse team picked up a long-overdue win as they edged past University of Brunel 7-6 in a thriller.

Excellent goalkeeping from Henry Mellors and five goals from Josh Castle helped them pick up their first win of the season.  Man of the match was Toby Martinez.
