Lindfield BC’s Carol Watson finished the indoor season on a high by winning the ladies county unbadged singles title 21-19 against Eastbourne’s Phyllis Stevens.

But clubmate Tom Palmer lost out in the men’s equivalent competition as he suffered a narrow defeat at Worthing.

The outdoor competitive season at Lindfield gets underway on Saturday when their B squad travel to Woodingdean in the national double fours.

The 110th season for Lindfield started with members visiting local schools in an effort to attract interest from the younger generation as the club look to increase playing membership.

Anyone interested in joining can go along to the club, which is located at the top of Lindfield Common, or can find out more by visiting their website at www.lindfieldbowlsclub.co.uk
