The Downsman Bowls Club were the proud winners of Crawley’s Annual Inter-Club Bowls competition this year, which is run in aid of the Mayor’s charity.

The Mayor, Cllr Bob Burgess, presented the trophy to the winning team and received a cheque for £600 for his charity which this year is Outreach 3Way, which supports adults with severe learning difficulties.

Grattons played away at Bromley on Wednesday, on a pleasant Indian summer afternoon. The mat was very slow compared to Grattons’ and although it was a tightly fought contest Grattons were eventually out-bowled. Top rink was Phil Gisby, Ken Keohane, Janet Clark and Brian Keeley (skip).

On Saturday Grattons were at home to Swale, and won 124-110.
