A Memorial service is to be held for Tony Grantham, the first Royal jumps jockey, who died in Ireland at the age of 89 earlier this year,
The service takes place at St George’s Church, West Grinstead on Friday August 26 at 2pm, and afterwards at Lockyers Farm.

In the saddle he rode Monaveen, owned by the Queen Mother to vistory in 1949 at Fontwell Park and after retirement from the saddle, trained point to pointers for ten years near Ashurst. He retired to County Clare in 1985.
