Sussex’s Amy Truran has retained the Bowls England Women’s National Four-Wood Singles Championship.

Truran, the former St Francis bowler who now plies her trade with Worthing club Homefield Park BC, defeated Sue Davies from Broadway BC, Worcestershire, 21-14 in the final at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa.

In the semi-finals Davies and Truran prevented an all-Hampshire final with victories over Margaret Holden and Liz Russell respectively.

Truran first won the title last year and must have been delighted with her successful defence.
