Crawley Town manager Richie Barker acknowledged Shrewsbury’s hat-trick scorer Tom Eaves was the difference between the two sides as the Reds slipped to a 3-0 defeat.
He said: “We had the most possession, the most chances and the most shots and got beat 3-0. Tom Eaves was a real thorn in the side all afternoon and was excellent. It’s a steep learning curve for our young strikers particularly people like Jamie Proctor. He was the difference.”
Barker wants the side, who are 13th, to push for a high finish even though reaching the play-offs is going to be ‘extremely tough.’
He said: “I’m determined the season isn’t going to frizzle out, I’m going to make sure players don’t think that as well. We want to finish as high up the table as possible.”
