Storrington boss Nigel Dyer has backed his side to overcome their tough start - if they can cut out the mistakes.

That’s after they went down 3-1 at home to Oakwood on Saturday - a fourth defeat from six in the league.

Dyer said: “We need to be more clinical in front of goal as we created plenty of chances especially in the first half, also we need to cut out the mistakes that are costing us points recently.

“This is not helped by changing the team so much because of unavailabilities...We have a great team here and I am sure we will soon start to move up the table.”

Swans were again missing a number of players but made a good start with decent chances from Marcus Robertshaw and Joe Warner.

Further openings came and went and against the run of play and just before half-time a mistake in the Swans defence allowed Oaks’ Tidey to nip in and shoot past Gary Elliott.

Swans made some chances and on 68 minutes they drew level, Robertshaw firing home after a scramble. But just as the hosts had got back on terms Oakwood’s Gerald Manville scored from a soft free kick, and Tidey notched his second to wrap things up.

Swans: Elliott; Setchell, Minter (Quirke), Forsey, Jarvie, Watton, Rhodie, Howard (Jarrett), Warner, Robertshaw, Garrett.
