Sam MacVicar made his 100th appearance for the first team in this match which turned out to be one he may wish to forget.

South Park took an unassailable 3-0 lead at half-time due to some poor defending against the long ball and very fast forwards and missed chances at the other end.

Bridges should have gone ahead in the first minute, when Lee Carney was clear through with only the goalkeeper to beat and then Tony Garrod missed from the rebound.

Park opened the scoring in the eighth minute when Kieran Lavery ran on to a long through-ball and shot over the advancing goalkeeper Kieron Thorp.

Jack Higgins had a good chance for South Park but his shot cleared the crossbar and Jamie Crellin made a good run but failed to score for Bridges.

Chris Smith made the score 2-0 after 23 minutes when he turned the defence and had a clear shot at goal.

Carney took a free-kick from 20 yards but the ball just cleared the crossbar and Smith had two chances in quick succession but was twice foiled by Kieron Thorp.

Just before half-time, Smith got his second goal when he made a tight turn in the six-yard area to put the ball into the goal.

Playing down the slope in the second half, Bridges were playing better but lost Owen Roberts to injury in the 49th minute being replaced by Callum Donaghey.

Bridges’ hopes were raised in the 54th minute, when from a corner, Tony Garrod found space to pull a goal back.

Bridges lost another defender Charlie Leach in the 60th minute after a clash with Jack Higgins who was later taken to hospital.

South Park played out the remaining time looking the more likely to score again.
