Former Reds boss Richie Barker has been officially confirmed as manager of League 2 club Portsmouth.
The 38-year-old has signed a 12-month rolling deal to replace Guy Whittingham in the hot seat.
Barker had been a long-standing favourite for the Blues position, although still had to beat off competition from Chris Wilder, Paul Tisdale and Steve Claridge.
Steve Coppell has joined him at Fratton Park as director of football.
Barker was sacked by Crawley less then two weeks ago following a poor run of no wins and only one goal coming from their last seven league games.
Coppell quit as the Reds’ director of football last Monday and was believed to have been opposed to Barker’s sacking.
