LANCING Football Club have swooped to add three players to their squad ahead of the upcoming Southern Combination Football League season.
With the campaign just two weeks’ away, Lancers boss Richard Whittington strengthened his squad last night with both Will Berry and David O’Callaghan joining from Worthing and Richard Greenfield from East Preston.
Defender or midfielder Berry, 26, began his career at Culver Road, before moving to Burgess Hill for two seasons. He then spent the past two campaigns at Worthing but has now returned to Culver Road.
Midfielder O’Callaghan, 21, has played in the top flight of the SCFL for Eastbourne Town, Littlehampton and East Preston.
The duo had been playing for Ryman League Worthing in pre-season and Whittington was surprised when they became available.
He moved quickly to snap them up, though, and said: “I’m delighted they have both chosen to sign for Lancing.”
