Chi City Ladies completed the league double over leaders Larkhall thanks to a goal by Chloe Parkes that secured a 1-0 win at Oaklands Park.

After two games without a win Chichester were looking for an upturn in fortune.

Before kick-off Chichester sat in second place, eight points behind their rivals but with two games in hand.

Chichester started much the livelier and were dominant for the first ten minutes.

Balls in behind the Larkhall back-line were proving fruitful but City they were unable to find an opening.

As Larkhall settled into the game they became more threatening, forcing a series of corners – but also without really looking like scoring.

The breakthrough came in the 85th minute when Parkes made a decisive run from midfield to find herself one on one with the keeper and she coolly finished with her left foot for her first goal for the club.

The best chance of the half looked to have fallen to Lauren Cheshire; however the referee stopped the game for a head injury on the halfway line as she was one on one with the visiting keeper.

In the second half Chichester again started the better team and created several chances that were thwarted by an offside flag before they could get a strike on goal.

The home team had the ball in the net through Shannon Aulbery but her effort was ruled marginally offside.

Larkhall offered sporadic counte- attacks in the second half but seemed happy to soak up pressure.

Larkhall tried to pile numbers forward looking for an equaliser but with only five minutes left, Chichester managed to see the game out and get three valuable points.

The ladies are at home again this Sunday against Maidenhead United – kick-off is at the later time of 3pm.
