EP suffered their 31st defeat in 36 games as Chichester City ran out comfortable 4-0 winners at The Lashmar.

Preston conceded three times in the final 15 minutes of the first half to all but ensure they fell to defeat.

Jimmy Wild bagged a double while Ruben French and a Richard John own-goal rounded off the scoring.

EP boss Paul Ettridge believes it could have been a different story had his side taken their chances early on.

Wild then popped up with two just before the break to give City a 3-0 lead.

They had two golden opportunities in the first 20 minutes. First, Kris Harding fired straight at City goalkeeper David Hook – then Jake Cockerton scuffed a shot just wide.

They were made to pay for those misses when John put through his own net on 30 minutes.

Wild then popped up with two just before the break to give City a 3-0 lead.

EP kept pushing in the second but couldn’t find the net and French added a fourth with ten minutes left.

Chichester improved on Saturday’s 4-0 victory with an even bigger win at Uckfield.

Jimmy Wild and Frazer Smith’s goals put them firmly in control in the first six minutes and Alex Ansa, Dan Hegarty and Wild again made it 5-0 at the break.

It was a question of how many they would score and Smith added another after the break to put City in the top six. They host third-placed Newhaven on Saturday.
