Due to a wet outfield at Keymer the match was moved to The Clappers, Robertsbridge.

Having lost the toss, new first eleven skipper Alex Brakell and his hassocks team were asked to bat first in this limited overs contest.

In damp conditions the home bowlers struggled with openers Brakell and John Poole making a great start. Poole was the first, and it turned out to be the only wicket to fall in the keymer innings, going for 41.

Brakell continued to bat solidly and carried his bat through the innings for a brilliant 110*. His innings was ably supported by Keymer’s new signing, Jacob Montgomery, who during his first innings on English soil plundered boundaries to rack up 88 not out and a sizable first innings total of 274-1.

In reply to the first innings, Robertsbridge never really managed to get going, with only Peter Savage (31) and Paul Nice (28) offering a great resistance. Some tidy bowling from Michael Poole (3-20) and Andrew Westgate (3-19) tightened the screw on the reply with Robertsbridge eventually falling short with a total of 119 all out.

The victory for Keymer and Hassocks sees them continue in the cup to play Lewes St. Michaels in the quarter final.
