VIDEO: Crawley boss Richie Barker’s Doncaster verdict
Crawley manager Richie Barker saluted his side’s performance in last night’s 1-1 draw with Doncaster Rovers, but admitted he fears losing captain Josh Simpson to injury.
Some of the gloss from the 1-1 draw against a Doncaster side who could have gone top of League One with a win was taken away by Simpson’s first half tackle with James Harper, which left the Reds’ skipper on crutches after his withdrawal, and Barker says the midfielder ‘heard a crack’ in the challenge shortly before Rovers cancelled out Simpson’s opener.
“Josh is massive for us, he chips in with goals and keeps the ball extremely well,” Barker said. “I thought the midfield three tonight were fantastic.
“We deserved to win the game, the way we played was fantastic and energy levels were excellent.”
