Crawley’s Joe Walsh earns Wales international call
JPCO-Joe Walsh
Crawley Town defender Joe Walsh has been called-up to the Wales under-21 squad.
Walsh, who joined the club last summer from Swansea, has been named in the squad for a friendly against Iceland U-21s at Llanelli FC on Wednesday, February 6. If selected, it will be his second under-21 cap.
The youngster has impressed with a series of steady performances in defence, particularly during Kyle McFadzean’s absence with a virus.
Reds’ boss Richie Barker said: “It’s a great honour for Joe and a due reward for his performances this season. He has come on tremendously and is really enjoying a good run in the first team.
“I’m not sure if too many of our players have been selected for any of the home nations while at the club so it is a feather in the cap of everyone connected with Crawley Town.”
