Crawley’s Cooper to make Portsmouth loan switch
JPCO-Crawley Town's Shaun Cooper
Crawley Town midfielder Shaun Cooper will join League One rivals Portsmouth on a month long loan.
The former Pompey man will link-up with his former club again, seven years after his departure for Bournemouth. Cooper joined Crawley from the Cherries in the summer, but after a promising start to the season, suffered a groin injury against Colchester in September.
That kept him out of action until the Boxing Day win at Fratton Park, where he came on as substitute, and his only start since was against Bournemouth three days later.
Manager Richie Barker said: “Shaun was out for the best part of three months and needs minutes on the pitch. Like ourselves, Pompey have a lot of games in the next month so Shaun will get that opportunity.”
