Loxwood Under-18s overcame rustiness through lack of matches played and player absences to dispatch Storrington 6-1.

A goal by Harry Garman and a brace by Ollie Clark set up a 3-0 lead at half-time.

This was added to in the second half with goals by Stanley Rice (two) and Tom Killner-Brown before Storrington pulled back a consolation.

Loxwood manager Richard Chaplin said: “We played well in patches but always looked like we would win. We’ve got to learn to focus for the full 90 minutes.

“It was good to see Anthony Jupp back and Louis Johnson up front has shown again what a quality striker he is, even though he didn’t get on the scoresheet today.”

Horsham Under-15s cruised to a comfortable victory in the 4th round of the Sussex County Cup with a 7-1 victory against Hove.

Nick Bristow scored the first of his two goals with a seventh minute opener.

Liam Clarke added two goals and Horsham went into the break four to the good after Bigg had found the target with a low drive across the ‘keeper from the edge of the penalty area.

Horsham started the second half brightly with Clarke breaking through down the wing twice and Louis Lewes carried on where he left off in defence with a majestic challenge.

Bristow got his brace with a charge down on the Hove ‘keeper, the ball being booted against his leg and deflecting back into the net.

Hove managed to score from a corner after keeper Jack Reeves made an initial save.

Horsham hit straight back to restore the five goal cushion through a superb solo effort by Bigg, cutting inside and beating three players to rifle home low into the corner.

Kerr then added Hornets’ seventh with another low drive into the corner and nearly added another but his superb strike clattered the woodwork.

Jack Reeves was again called upon to keep Hove at bay to take Horsham through to the quarter finals.

Under-13

Horsham Sparrows lost a closely contested match against Ockley by 2-0. Oliver Hannaford was man of the match.
