A WEST Sussex schoolboy has won a gold medal at the British Schools Score Orienteering Championships held in Petworth Park this month.
Nick Jarvis(11) is a pupil at Warden Park School, Cuckfield and he won gold in the Year 7 category by a convincing margin.

He visited 26 controls in five minutes; six controls more than his closest rival. Also competing were Downlands Community School pupils Jonathan Crickmore and Chris Lambert , pupils at Downlands Community School, Hassocks in the Year 10/11 competition, finishing fourth and 27th respectively and Jenny Tucker (Downlands Community School) was 23rd in Year 10/11.
The juniors were cheered on by Southdowns Orienteers team-mate Lucy Thraves.
