CHICHESTER District Council's assistant planning manager Jeremy Bushell recently completed the UK Ironman 70.3 triathlon at Wimbleball on the edge of Exmoor National Park.
Jeremy(43), from Chichester, races for the TriUK/Gatorade race team based in Yeovil and is scheduled to race in 12 triathlons this season.

Triathlon has become enormously popular in Britain over the past few years with the larger events regularly attracting 1000+ competitors of all ages and abilities.

It was Jeremy's second successive visit to Wimbleball and his finishing time of 6 hours 5 minutes for the 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile cycle and 13.1 mile half marathon run knocked 13 seconds of last year.

"The UK event is renound as the toughest on the world circuit because of its very hilly bike and run sections so I was quite pleased with my time and amazed it was so similar to last year" he said.

"It's really a bit like doing a hard day at the office only with a lot more fresh air, the bonus of a suntan and a shiny medal at the end!".

Next year Jeremy plans to step up to the plate and double the distance by competing in Zurich in Ironman Switzerland.
