  • West Sussex born and bred, 41-year-old John was deputy editor of the Worthing Herald for nine years and started his career with the Littlehampton Gazette.
  •  
  • Born at Southlands in Shoreham, he has lived in Worthing all his life. He was educated at Broadwater CofE School, Tarring High School (now Worthing High School) and Worthing Sixth Form College.
  •  
  • He said: "It is a huge honour to be editor of the West Sussex Gazette, a newspaper with more than 150 years history of serving people in the county.

  • Jeannie has worked for the West Sussex Gazette in various guises for 20 years.
  • She has lived in West Sussex for 33 years and is tireless in ensuring that the paper remains at the heart of county goings-on.
  •  
  • Former hang-glider pilot and international clay pigeon shooting referee, Jeannie now plays a lot of golf
  •  
  • She has previously worked on newspapers in the north, including The Northern Echo, Middlesbrough Evening Gazette and for Sporting Life for which she wrote horse racing features.
  •  
  • She is the equestrian and golf correspondent for the West Sussex Gazette.

  • It's practically full circle for John, who has worked in newspapers for more than 20 years, as he was a trainee reporter on the Gazette's sister paper the Midhurst and Petworth Observer.
  • Since then, he has been employed by The News in Portsmouth - another sister publication - as a reporter and sub-editor, and has subbed on the Jersey Evening Post and the Southern Daily Echo in Southampton, where he became assistant chief sub-editor.
  •  
  • He has also subbed on the Petersfield Post (once again, a sister title to the WSG) as well as on national dailies.
  • John (44) said: "It's great to be back in West Sussex and working on a newspaper that is held so closely to its readers' hearts.
  •  
  • "I thoroughly enjoyed myself covering the Midhurst and Petworth area all those years ago, where I developed a deep affinity for this beautiful county, and I'm relishing being able to play my part in helping the Gazette to build on its reputation as a publication that means so much to so many."

  • David (23) joined the West Sussex Gazette in April 2007 after qualifying from his journalism course at Highbury College, Portsmouth.
  •  
  • Originally from near Reading, David graduated from the University of Southampton in 2005 and has recently moved to the Worthing area to start his career.
