Upper Beeding care home owner Zoe Bates has been celebrating the best five years of her life.
It was a dream come true when she took over Valerie Manor, in Henfield Road, in 2008 and last week she celebrated her five-year anniversary at the nursing and residential care home.
“I can’t believe the five years have gone so quickly and am so lucky to have such wonderful staff and a supportive family to assist me in making Valerie Manor the home that it is,” said Zoe.
“It seems like a long time ago when I first wrote the business plan which allowed my dream of running a care home to come true, but I can honestly say that this has been the best five years of my life and I feel so privileged to be here doing what I love with a fantastic team.”
During the special week, the official anniversary was marked last Monday, followed by a big celebration on Thursday, with the residents, staff, friends and families.
They enjoyed a cream tea, bubbly and a wonderful cake in the shape of the number five, made by the chef, Chris.
“I have been thoroughly spoilt with flowers, cards, champagne, chocolates and wine,” added Zoe. “Here’s to the next five years at Valerie Manor!”
