Think of others not ourselves

Have your say

Having read the article: ‘Revealed: Secrets To What Makes Sussex Women Happy’ (West Sussex Gazette May 30) it seems as if we are all interested in ourselves. If this is so, does it really matter, except to ourselves, what we look or feel like?!

Maybe we should start thinking of other people. When I was a Brownie in the 1930s, each had a rhyme. As an Elf, our rhyme was: ‘This is what we do as Elves, think of others not ourselves.’

Perhaps we could take a little time to speak to newcomers, or older people on their own, living in our road.

Perhaps we would find new friends and, maybe, be able to ‘step into the old jeans’!
