Return bins to the council doorstep

We noticed with interest your article regarding the green waste collections.

While it is appreciated this may have been publicised in the County Times we have not received any notification from the council about this.

We thought the original idea was great as it limited the car journeys to the tip and hence the damage to the ozone layer.

The council feels that a free service is ‘unfair’ to some - well in our opinion the people that use this service are more likely to be those paying the higher end of council tax - we pay £220 per month for very little.

We feel the real reason is that HDC is trying to use this as a cash cow similar to parking charges. We will not be paying for the service and suggest that we return our bins to the front door of Park North.
