LETTER: Strong believer in localism

Last Thursday you very kindly elected me to serve as one of your two Conservative councillors on Horsham District Council. During the election campaign, I tried to get around as much of the ward as I could and personally introduce myself to as many people as possible; although, I know there were some roads that were missed.

Therefore, through the good graces of the West Sussex County Times, I wanted to write this open letter to thank each and every one of you that voted for me last Thursday.

Your support is most greatly appreciated and it will never be taken for granted. Whether you voted for me or not and whether you are a Conservative supporter or not, I promise that I will do my very best to represent Denne Ward as effectively and as fully as I can.

My contact details will shortly be available via the Horsham District Council website and I would urge anybody with any queries or concerns to feel free to use them if it is something that I may be able to help with in my capacity as your councillor. Whilst I cannot promise to agree with every grievance that may be raised, I can promise to listen and to respond and to act where possible.

Over the next year or so, I will try and get around the whole ward and make face to face contact with as many people as possible.

I am a strong believer in localism and I want people to know that local democracy works.

As a signatory of the County Times’ Free Speech Charter I am fully committed to its principles and I look forward to working on behalf of and serving the people of Denne Ward in the years ahead.

ADRIAN M. LEE

(Con) Horsham district councillor for Denne Ward, North Street, Horsham
