Woman robbed of £2,300 cash and handbag

A woman was robbed of more than £2,300 while outside her home in Three Bridges on Monday (March 25).

The 50-year old victim was about to enter her car on the driveway of her home in Three Bridges Road at around 10.15am, when she was pushed from behind and had her handbag containing cash taken.

It is believed that the suspect then run off in the direction of Mitchells Road towards Gales Drive.

Shortly before the incident a man had approached her address and asked to view the house, which has recently been up for sale. He is described as white, 6’- 6’1”, in his late 30’s, with a full round face, short dark hair and dark eyebrows. He was wearing a dark padded jacket and spoke with an Eastern European accent.

Detective Constable Chris Newby said: “This was a frightening incident for the victim, that happened on her own doorstep, a place you would particularly expect to be safe. Fortunately she was left relatively unscathed by the incident, sustaining only superficial injuries.”
