This event, which will take place this coming Monday from 5.30pm until 7.30pm, will enable visitors to find out more about what being a Trustee involves, hear from some inspiring individuals about their experiences and then meet some of the organisations that need help.

It will be held at The Loft, The Body Shop, Watersmead, Littlehampton.

VAAC is looking for people with skills, experience, enthusiasm and an interest in helping the local community. Those who take part can gain new skills and training, increase their knowledge of the voluntary sector and build partnerships with fellow Trustees.

Mark Spofforth, the West Sussex High Sheriff, said: “The speed we all live our lives these days, and coping with the pace of change, can be daunting; taking a little time out to help others seems to enable people to achieve greater balance in their lives, and most say that they get far more back from volunteering than they put in. Employers recognise this and support and encourage staff to give their time, making promotion and recognition more likely.”

Mark will be hosting the evening, and VAAC are working with the Deputy Lieutenants, the Royal Society of Arts, the Small Charities Coalition and The Body Shop to encourage as many people as possible to find out more about the role of trustees.

Register to come to the event or find out more by emailing Hilary Spencer, the chief executive of VAAC at [email protected] or calling 01243 840305 leaving a name and email address or telephone number.
