PEOPLE in Shoreham are being asked how they see the future of the Pond Road area.
Work on the Shoreham Centre is already underway, including the creation of new Adur District Council offices. Now, people are being given the chance to have their say on the rest of the area opposite, including the library and health centre.
A spokesman said: “The county council, together with the district council, are in the process of consulting with the people of Shoreham and local partners, including NHS colleagues, about what they would like to see happen in the Pond Road area of the town.
“There are already some changes being made to the community centre and we are keen to hear from local people to inform planning over the rest of the site, including the library and health centre.
“This is an initial opportunity for members of the public to have their say about what they would like to see on the land and how buildings might be used.”
A number of events have been happening across the town over the last few weeks, to encourage people to fill out the survey and make their views known. The consultation questionnaire can also be filled out online at www.surveymonkey.com/s/pondroad.
The county council spokesman added: “Feedback from the local community will help to shape possible options for the potential use of the site, which are expected to be drawn up later this year. The county council and partners will continue to engage with the local community as this work progresses.”
