Year Three pupils from Hilltop Primary School, in Southgate, enjoyed a Victorian Day on Thursday (May 9).
The 16 pupils, aged seven to eight, came to school dressed in the appropriate 19th century attire and spent the day learning about the Victorian ways of life. The day provided a first-hand experience of what is was like to be a pupil in a Victorian school.
As well as receiving a strict lesson in hand writing using fountain pens and ink, the children learnt about steam engines and the British Empire. More pictures on page 28 td1_8926e
