Police are warning residents to be wary of car thieves after an increase in thefts from vehicles across the district.
Horsham Police has released the warning after another spate of vehicle thefts.
A video has been released by the force to show how thieves can steal from vehicles in a matter of seconds.
A spokesman for Horsham Police said: “We have seen an increase in thefts from vehicles in the district and would like to remind vehicle owners please to ‘Take it, Check it, Lock it’
“Take it – Please take all valuable items out of your vehicle when unattended. Items that have been stolen recently include sat navs, mobile phones, laptops/tablets and bags. Please also remove tools from work vans when not in use.
“Check it – Check you have removed items from gloveboxes, centre consoles and the boot. Check that tell-tale sat nav marks have been wiped off the windscreen.
“Lock it – Close your vehicle windows, lock the doors and use a steering lock when possible. Double check that the central locking has worked and that your vehicle is secure.
“It takes just seconds to steal from a vehicle.”
