Street lighting improvement works are being carried out in the town centre.
Pavements next to new lampposts are being refilled today (Tuesday January 28).
Some 17,500 lights have been changed across town in the past 12 months.
Residents were updated on the progress of the project in a West Crawley County Local Committee meeting on January 14.
Concerns had been raised at previous meetings, about the council’s ongoing scheme to replace the county’s ageing street lights.
Representatives from SSE contracting, and Peter Atkins, the county council’s engineering services manager, reported on the progress of the project.
Cllr Sue Mullins (Lab, Gossops Green/Ifield East) told the meeting there had been a “complete breakdown” in communication between SSE and the public.
