Historic aircraft took to the skies and an amazing array of vehicles swept along the runway for this year’s annual Wings & Wheels airshow on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday.

The annual show proved even more poignant for several of the visitors who had seen military action in the second world war and more recent conflicts as the venue, Dunsfold Aerodrome, is celebrating its 70th anniversary.

There was applause as the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, which included a Lancaster bomber and two Spitfires, majestically flew ahead.

Air cadets from Horsham and the South Downs helped beat a world record on Tuesday (August 14) as part of a promotion for the forthcoming Dunsfold Wings and Wheels Airshow on Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday August 26 and 27.
