A man died and a woman and three children were taken to hospital after a crash this morning (Thursday December 10)

Emergency services were called to the A2037 Shoreham Road, between Henfield and Small Dole, at around 9.20am.

Police said a 22-year-old local man died at the scene.

A 43-year-old woman, from Washington, along with three children were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, with various injuries.

Emergency services are still at the scene and the road has been blocked in both directions between the Nep Town Road junction and the A281 Brighton Road junction.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact police by emailing collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or by phoning 101, quoting Operation Angling.
