A documentary film about a County Times journalist discovering a major cover-up started filming in Horsham today.
‘A Dark Reflection’, directed and produced by Horsham resident, Tristan Loraine, is set in Horsham and filming for it will take place in the Carfax, the Causeway and cricket pitches over the next two months.
The director, who grew up in Storrington, said: “The film will promote the beauty of Horsham and local businesses for the benefit of the community to the world.”
He added: “Most of the people funding the film are from the local community. It’s a cooperative film - we are all volunteers.”
Actual County Times reporter, Ollie Mcateer, 21, of Horsham, played an extra for a scene at the newspaper’s offices on Springfield Road.
‘A Dark Reflection’ is an investigative thriller that tells the story of a reporter at the West Sussex County Times uncovering a disturbing succession of cover-ups dating back to 1954.
It stars Bill Ward, who played Charlie Stubbs in Coronation Street and Marina Sirtis, who played Deanna Troi in Star Trek.
The team are looking for more extras.
Mr Loraine said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is interested in being part of a film or who is interested in how a film is made.
“This is a cooperative film and we are opening up the role of extras to anyone who wants to get involved.”
