A Henfield care home will be holding a coffee morning TODAY (November 22) to raise money to help the relief effort in the Philippines.
The event will be held between 10am and 12 noon TODAY at Red Oaks Care Home, The Hooks.
Martin Carroll-Hallett, maintence manager, said: “We employ several Filipinos, so the tragedy over there is something close to our hearts.
“We have decided to try and raise some cash, proper cash, to send and try to help.”
There will be coffee and tea, cakes and biscuits for sale as well as a grand raffle.
Martin continued: “But the thing we are attempting and hoping will make a difference is a Skills Sale,
“Several of the staff group are offering there services by auction, including maintenance, catering, cleaning, a local plumber etc.
“Of course this is all well and good, but we need people to know about it,” he continued.
“I appreciate there’s not a lot of time, but there’s not much time for the people that need the money either.”
