DRAGON boat racing on the River Adur has drawn a large crowd to Shoreham today.
Teams have been battling it out in two-boat races since just before 11am, paddling up to the Old Toll Bridge for the start then racing towards Adur Outdoor Activities Centre.
Ginger Pirates won the first race, beating The Unusual Suspects, a team from the leisure centre.
Shoreham pubs joined in the fun, with Suters Yard putting in two teams and others from the Duke of Wellington and Royal Sovereign.
Also racing were a stag party and a group from Birmingham.
People lined Norfolk Bridge and the east bank to watch the teams battling it out for glory.
The races, organised by James Parker from Suter’s Yard, are expected to continue until around 2pm.
