POLICE have arrested a man on suspicion of drink-driving after a car slammed into two parked vehicles and flipped onto its roof.
The incident took place in Cokeham Lane, Sompting, sometime earlier today (June 7).
Emergency crews, including police and firefighters, attended the scene of the crash at about 7.15am.
However, the driver was not at the site.
A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: “During the night a moving car collided with two parked vehicles in Cokeham Lane, Sompting.
“The car ended up on its roof. The crash was reported to us by members of the public who called police.”
The spokeswoman confirmed that an adult male was arrested at about 8.49am today.
Police are now appealing for witness to come forward, by calling 101, quoting serial number 297 of 07/06.
The arrest comes after a police warning yesterday in which officers said they would be clamping down on drink or drug-driving.
It’s part of the force’s month-long campaign, Operation Dragon, which is targeting those believed to be drinking or taken drugs before getting behind the wheel.
