UPDATE: Road reopened after scaffolding collapse

Shaftesbury Avenue in Worthing is now reopened between The Boulevard and the Barrington Road junction after scaffolding crashed and blocked the road in the early hours of this morning (Monday, February 8).

A spokesman for West Sussex County Council said: “The scaffolding has now been cleared from the carriageway and it is fully open.”

West Fire and Rescue and Sussex Police attended the scene after midnight.
