The first floor of the North Terminal at Gatwick Airport was evacuated for a short time this afternoon (August 9) after a coach fire.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and the airport’s own fire crews were called at 12.30pm.
People were evacuated from the lower level because smoke got into the building, but the check-ins on the upper floor and flights continued as normal.
Six fire crews attended and the fire was out within an hour.
