A DRIVER has been taken to hospital after crashing into a tree off the A24 near Horsham at 8.15 this morning.

The man was trapped in his vehicle with ‘serious but non-life threatening injuries’, say police.

Emergency services including four fire and rescue units and an air amublance were scrambled to the scene between the B2237 Worthing Road junction and Broadbridge Heath Roundabout.

One lane northbound was closed while the driver was extricated by West Sussex Fire and Rescue using hydraulic rescue equipment.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “A car, driven by a man, is thought to have left the carriageway at around 8.15am and collided with trees, just south of Broadbridge Heath.

“Police would like to thank drivers for their patience.”
