Karen Taylor who runs Zumba with Kaz classes, held a two hour zumbathon on Sunday September 7 at the Holbrook Community Centre, with all funds raised being donated to The British Heart Foundation.
The event started at 2pm with a master class in Zumba moves, with Karen breaking down the moves so everybody could learn the correct way to execute them and their names. After the master class, there was a short refreshment break which included a sale of cakes and biscuits which were homemade and donated for the event. There then followed an hour long Zumba class which used the moves learnt. The event was fun and there was lots of laughter as well as exercise. In total it raised over £250 for the charity.
Karen said after the event: “A huge thank you to all the wonderful, amazing people who came out and supported me today. Thank you for shimmying with me for two hours. I am overwhelmed with your generosity and taking time out of your weekend to help me raise money for a fabulous cause which is close to my heart.”
Zumba with Kaz classes run on a Monday at Holbrook Community Centre 7-8pm and Wednesday at Millais School 7-8pm. More information can be found on her facebook page: Zumba with Kaz.
