A Storrington motorcyclist who was injured when his Triumph Speed Triple was involved in a road traffic collision at Chichester this morning (Friday (November 28) has been discharged from the city’s St Richard’s Hospital after being treated for broken ribs.

A Sussex Police statement says that the casualty, a 53-year-old man, had been eastbound on the A27 Chichester by-pass at 7.50am.

He was 200 metres west of its junction with the A259 Cathedral Way when he moved to avoid a white Ford Transit van, which continued unaware.

In doing so the rider then collided with a blue Citroen van, driven by a 46-year-old Gosport man, who was unhurt.

Police are still keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened and the driver of the Ford Transit.

They are asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 198 of 28/11.
