The Royal Wessex will leave Three Bridges, hauled by West Country steam locomotive No. 34046 Braunton and stop at Haywards Heath, Preston Park, and Hove. It will leave Hove at 8.10am, passing through Southwick, Shoreham and Lancing before stopping at Worthing at 8.32am. The Railway Touring Company, which organises the steam trips, has had to cancel the annual Bath Christmas Market steam tour, which is usually held in December with pick-ups in Worthing and Hove.

The company said the trip could not take place this December “due to operational reasons outside The Railway Touring Company’s control”. A spokesman said it was not possible to bring the stock to Three Bridges from where the train was to start.

An alternative Bath and Bristol steam trip has been organised for Saturday, March 18, 2017. For more information and to book a place, visit www.railwaytouring.co.uk
