A PROJECT which supports the tourism industry has set its sights on getting more businesses on board after exceeding its engagement targets.
The Worthing Borough Council Seaconomics scheme, which offers a series of free workshops to tourism organisations, was tasked with involving 40 businesses by July 2014.
But just months into the project, 49 businesses have already got involved.
Tony Bradford, MD of Sussex Learning Solutions, said: “It has been very successful, and that is down to the way the tourism businesses in the Worthing area have embraced it and got involved.
“The project is all about promoting what is good about Worthing and getting tourism businesses to look at the assets around them.”
The scheme has delivered 12 workshops, one IT course and a visual merchandising competition, the latter of which saw shops decorate their windows with a Sussex-by-the-sea theme.
