The three neighbourhood councils have teamed up to launch ‘Horsham Blueprint’ to lead on a production of a Neighbourhood Plan for the unparished part of the town.

Everybody who lives, works or carries on business in the unparished area is invited to work towards establishing, building and enacting a vision and planning policies for our community that have real impact through the Neighbourhood Plan. This will be the people’s vision for the future of our town and will have statutory powers.

Denne, Forest and Trafalgar neighbourhood councils will lead on the creation of a Horsham Blueprint Neighbourhood Forum, and are inviting anyone to get in touch.

The forum is non-politicial and all-inclusive.

Frances Haigh, interim chair of the forum and Liberal Democrat Horsham district councillor for Horsham Park, said: “This is a very exciting opportunity. We are looking for as many people as possible to be involved, sharing ideas, skills, talents. We will be running open events to give everyone the chance to take part.

“We are particularly interested to work in partnership with businesses, schools, faith groups, charities, residents associations and other organisations that are active in the town. If you want to reclaim your road as a space for children to play, or you are worried about people being isolated or lonely and think there is a need for more community places, or you think we need to have more affordable housing and local jobs in the town, then now is the time to get involved.”

Residents are invited to a meeting in HDC’s council chambers on Wednesday October 2 at 5.30pm.
