A FUNDRAISING day at Barclays Bank has raised thousands for charity.
In Southwick Square last week Barclays opened its doors for an event that raised £2078.05 for Chesnut Tree Hospice.
The Christmas themed fundraiser included face painting, a raffle, Santa and his elves and a selection of cup cakes, pieces of cake and biscuits.
Jenna Mile, operational specialist, Barclays Bank Southwick said: “The day was amazing.
“We were busy with the children seeing Santa.
“The highlight of the day was everyone coming together and raising loads of money for the Chestnut Tree Hospice.
“The feed back from customers and the public is they hope it’s back again next year.
“Fingers cross it will be.
Jenna added: “We chose the Chestnut Tree Hospice as it is a local charity in Southwick and we have done it before around Christmas.
“We hope to raise money so they have more things in and around the hospice for them around this time of year.
“So on the day we held a raffle and also had a lovely Santa grotto.
“We had face painters in and tizzy treats the local cake Baker to come in and sell her cakes as treats.
“Hopefully we will be back to do it again for another local charity.”
